The S.D. Hall Trust is a private family farming trust established in 1986 whose primary area of operations
is the ownership and management of agricultural land with a particular focus on Windermere in the popular southern part of
the Lake District National Park.
The Trust’s present portfolio of such
land comprises
6.9 acres (2.8 hectares)
of grazing land with high amenity value which originally formed part of the renowned Briery Close Arabian Stud and which is
in the vicinity of an exclusive residential country estate with stylish houses and apartments. The land is favoured with spectacular panoramic views over Lake Windermere towards the Langdale Pikes,
Wordsworth’s “five solemn pikes of Langdale” which are among the most distinctive and instantly recognisable
mountain peaks in the Lake District. It
lies also within close walking distance of Lake Windermere, six prestigious hotels and a variety of premier leisure and recreational
facilities, including watersports centres, lakeside marinas, caravan/motorhome leisure park and activity clubs with indoor
swimming pools.
Well-sited prime agricultural land in Windermere and Ambleside rarely changes hands being invariably tightly
held by local farmers, residents and businesses. Over the past twenty-five years the Trust has periodically sold certain parcels of its land holdings in the
Lake District to fund the acquisition of other land in the UK with the objective of diversifying and augmenting the Trust's
portfolio.
Parcels of the Trust's land become available for sale at market prices from
time to time.
